Anti-Vax / Pro-Christ or Pro-Vax / Anti-Christ
Alright! Now that the title has thrown the proverbial cat amongst the proverbial pigeons, let us launch into a robust discussion of the current Zombie Apocalypse from a distinctly Christian perspective.
Worldviews Matter:
The first point to mention and to reinforce is that there simply is no neutrality in the world of ideas, philosophy, or theology. Our thoughts will conform to the Law of God and to God’s revelation or they will depart from that Law and revelation. If our thinking goes awry, even at some small point, then our actions will surely follow.
This basic point is underscored by many Biblical passages, but there is none clearer than Jesus’ own words: “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.”[1] Here, there are only two options. You either stand with Jesus and gather the harvest or you take your stand against Jesus and prance around like a spoilt child kicking over the sheaves. In this context, please understand well that gathering with Jesus is to join Him in His glorious work of Kingdom building – extending Christ’s rule over the Nations – and of calling His people to Himself. To stand against Jesus, is to tear at God’s people and to actively engage in philosophies, ideas, and actions that have no other intent than to thwart or inhibit the forward progress of Kingdom building – denying and resisting Christ’s right to rule the Nations.
What then does this have to do with the Zombie Apocalypse, Vaccination Passports, Lockdowns, Masks, Mandates, “The Science”, and Non-conformity to or disagreement with these things? Well, in a word, “Everything?”
The essential point we are making is that there is no ideological neutrality. The Scientists, the Chief Medical Officers, the Premiers, the Prime Minister, and everyone involved in this current conundrum possess a set of principles by which they live. They are all religious.[2] Yes, even the Atheists! They all subscribe fully / partially, consciously / unconsciously, consistently / inconsistently to a set of principles that govern their thought processes and actions.
Zombie Apocalypse:
The import of this point is that when the Zombie Apocalypse arrived on the scene, those in power were going to react, more or less, according to their particular religious belief. That religious belief was going to be the starting point, the North Star, and the terminus of all their policies and procedures. That religious belief was going to be the basis for action or non-action, truth or lie, freedom or incarceration, fiscal responsibility or fiscal stupidity, medical incompetence or medical prudence. In short and in Biblical terms, that religious belief was going to be a choice for life or death.
With this said, we arrive at the “bitter pill” of this conversation. In essence, all the offices mentioned above are occupied by either card-carrying atheists or those who are practically card-carrying atheists. As these officers are Atheistic Humanists, it was clear that their response to the Zombie Apocalypse was going to be Atheistic and Humanistic. That is to say that, right off the bat, the God of the Bible was going to be excluded from the conversation and at every point of the conversation. No Supernatural cause was to be considered; therefore, no Divine remedy would be or could be sought. No pleas for Divine intervention were to be made under any circumstances. God is irrelevant. We live in a closed system. The resultant picture is one in which our leaders, akin to a hubristic version of Nietzsche’s “ubermensch”, are seen to join hands and sing a medley of Queens, “We are the Champions”, Frankie’s, “I did it my way”, and John Lennon’s “Imagine” – you know, ‘No Hell below us, above us only sky!’[3]
These Atheistic Humanists believe that they have effectively killed Jesus a second time and that this time they have kept Him in His grave! They think that they have ousted this opposing religious view, along with its Leader, and that they now sit upon the Throne unhindered and unopposed. In taking this stand, these men chose death for themselves and for those that they represent. As Proverbs 8:36 states, “But he who sins against Me injures himself; All those who hate Me love death.”
It is at this juncture that we meet the challenge for the Christian who truly desires to be faithful, brining every thought and perspective captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ. This challenge begins with the realisation that Atheistic Humanist and his system, when unrestrained, can only bring tyranny and death.[4] Jesus alone is the giver of Life—the concomitant question is, “Do we live this truth out in word, thought, and deed?”
Pro-Vax / Anti-Christ:
In the midst of this Zombie Apocalypse, one is reticent to quote from the book of Revelation, but quote we must. The reticence comes from the fact that most people have a perverted view of the Book and its contents. One must confess that growing up, this book was shunned because it was all about how the Church and the Christian were to be obliterated by the powers of evil—that was the perspective conveyed by others to the young, impressionable mind. In the Australian vernacular, “It fair dinkum put the whoopies up people!”
This is tragic because such an understanding plainly turns the book of Revelation on its head. Revelation is not a book about the Church’s defeat. No! Rather it is a book about the victory of King Jesus over His enemies. It also contains some general wisdom and principles that help us in times like these.
Revelation 13: 15-17 states:
And there was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast might even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, and he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.[5]
As noted, the text before us has been skewed, skewered, debated, debilitated, and deliberately misinterpreted for generations. However, rather than running screaming from the contents of the text, we need to embrace it in its wider context.
The book of Revelation is the “Revelation of Jesus Christ” given to Him by God and for His bond-servants.[6] There is blessing for the one who reads, hears, and keeps these words; not fear and angst.[7] It is a message based in and upon the being of the Almighty, the Alpha and Omega.[8] Most importantly, this is a message from Jesus Christ, the ruler of the Kings of the earth.[9] Thus, when we read the above text, we must understand it in this context. It must be understood in terms of God’s war, God’s absolute rule, and God’s complete victory in Jesus Christ.
You see, all these scary figures in Scripture – the Beast, the Antichrist, the False Prophet, the kings of the earth – have one thing in common: they are all usurpers. They seek from you the two things to which they are not entitled, namely, your absolute obedience and your worship. Moreover, they will work to achieve their nefarious goal “by hook or by crook”.[10]
Many are made afraid by the references to “marks” and the regulation of “buying and selling”. However, what we need to see is that these are simply the “tools of the trade”. These usurpers desire that which they cannot have and that to which they are not entitled, so they will pursue their evil ends by any means available, namely, persuasion, coercion and intimidation, to name but a few.
If we look at the “marks” being applied to the forehead and the hand, the most intelligible interpretation is that these usurpers will seek to govern how and what you think (forehead) in order to obtain an action (hand) on your part that is complicit with their goal. Equally, if you will not buy into that agenda, you will be ostracised and denied the right to (buy) the basics—no matter what quality of person and what positive impact you have had upon society!
The Bible is replete with these conflicts. Think here of Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Daniel 3). In the narrative, we see a king with an ego being manipulated to persecute God’s people out of sheer spite. Please note the central themes here in Daniel, which both gel with our text from Revelation and with our topic: First, the usurper demands obedience; Second, the test of obedience is false worship; Third, there is a real threat of death if you will not prove your obedience through the offer of false worship.[11] It is at this point that we come face to face with the prospect of real persecution when we stand with and for Christ—we are soldiers in a war and soldiers die to obtain victory.[12]
Faced with this demand, God’s three men knew absolutely that there was no choice for them. Hence, they respectfully conveyed to Nebuchadnezzar the fact that he could “blow it out his ear”! Why? Precisely because Christ was King, not Nebuchadnezzar. Yes, Neb was powerful. Yes, he could take your life in an instant. Yet, these men, like the Apostles[13], knew that it was right to obey God and not man. You see, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah knew that only Yahweh had the right to claim absolute obedience and worship. Any man claiming these things was a mere usurper and, as such, had no right or authority to exercise such a decree. Moreover, taking their stand against the Beastly deportment of Neb, these men threw down the ultimate challenge: ‘God may spare us. God may not. Whether we live or die is unimportant. What you need to know, Neb, is that Yahweh alone has the right to command ultimate obedience and worship. Not you! Thus, we will obey Yahweh and worship Him alone. We proclaim this with our mouths and, if necessary, we will seal this testimony with our blood.”[14]
Therefore, whenever we see this threefold pattern in operation or at play within any governmental structure, we are witnessing the usurpers still trying to be “as God”, á la Genesis 3:5. This is wisdom: Any government’s Beastly and anti-Christological nature is clearly demonstrated when obedience and worship are demanded upon the threat of losing life or livelihood! Witness these attributes and you will know that your government is straight out of the Pit![15]
Now for the analysis! Please, take a look at your governments’[16] actions and reaction to the Zombie Apocalypse. Were you forced to wear a mask, stay at home, forego employment? Were you separated from loved ones based on arbitrary and capricious rules? Were these actions free and based on your willingness to comply or were they enforced by the local brute squad, aided by new laws and excessive fines? How many genuine freedoms did you lose – please read, “have stolen” – over the course of the Zombie Apocalypse; and we are not out of the woods yet! Worded another way, “What demands for absolute obedience were placed upon you and your community? It would seem that the first criterion was met!
What then of God’s true worship? Were not Churches shut? Yes! No public worship to God was allowed. The usurpers demand absolute fealty. There was to be no message of hope, no voice in the wilderness, no dissenting, Godly, prophetic voice. “Thus says the Lord” was banished from the public space. It was the false prophet or silence. It was false worship or silence. ‘The proclamation went out through all the land that at the sound of the Chief Medical Officer’s voice every Christian church should bolt its doors, forsake its God, and bow down to the ninety-foot high, golden image of the monstrous State.’ Failure to comply would be met with swift retribution. It would seem that the second criterion was met!
Lastly, what were the requirements placed upon you in order for you to receive your pseudo-freedoms back? Did the government back down and simply unlock the door, so to speak? Were freedoms and rights returned absolutely and without condition? Did your government esteem you as a citizen and give you the keys to the state? Methinks not! So-called freedoms were offered at gun point. People were and still are being forced to take “Whu Juice”[17] against their will in a vain attempt to have their freedoms restored. It was Whu Juice or woke justice; jab or job; vaccine or vanish; inoculation or incarceration! If you complied, did you receive everything back or are there still items outstanding? Did you comply only to find that the rules had changed? Did you comply only to see that you were restored only to the place of a fractional citizen?
What then of those who refuse to go along with the current demands, for whatever reason, and who are prejudicially lumped together and labelled as “antivaxxers”? (We realise that this is a hot topic, but these points need to be made. We are not dealing, here, with hypotheticals, but with actualities and people’s lives.)
Australians love their freedom or so we thought. We were meant to be the fighters and scrappers in the cause of justice, but we seem to have rolled over without a whimper. What of the ANZAC spirit in which we defend our mates and fight for those who cannot defend themselves? We were into a “fair suck of the sav or sauce bottle” depending on where you grew up. We were meant to be the “lucky country”. All of this is to say that we were an easy-going mob who would fight against injustice and stick up for our mates.
Where is this attitude now, particularly in light of what our governments have done to the citizens of this country and of how this group of people, the disobedient, have been treated and depicted?
Consider some present statements by government leaders in regard to those who do not wish to comply with the current tyrannical demands: (Please excuse the expletives)
- President Macron of France: “In a democracy, the worst enemies are lies and stupidity. We are putting pressure on the unvaccinated by limiting, as much as possible, their access to activities in social life… How do we reduce that minority? We reduce it – sorry for the expression – by pissing them [the unvaccinated] off even more… and we will continue to do this to the end. This is the strategy.”[18] [not the worst bit] Macron added, “When my freedoms threaten those of others, I have become someone irresponsible. Someone irresponsible is not a citizen.” [In another article] Macron is quoted as saying he wants to put the nonvaccinated “in the s#%t”.[19]
- President Duterte of the Philippines: ‘The brash talking President adds that for people who don’t want to be vaccinated, “Well, for all I care, you can die anytime.”[20]
- Michael Gunner, Chief Minister of the Northern Territory: “The fully vaccinated can continue as they were. For people who are not vaccinated, lockdown rules will apply to everyone aged 16 and above.”[21] No travel beyond 30 kms and leaving home only for three reasons. In another report, “If you are anti-mandate, you are absolutely anti-vax… I don’t care what your personal vaccination status is… If you support, champion, give a green light, give comfort to [or] support anybody who argues against the vaccine, you are an anti-vaxxer, absolutely… If you say ‘pro-persuasion’, stuff it, shove it.[22]
Keep in mind, please, the discussion here is in consideration of the third criterion above – punishment for disobeying, which can mean loss of life and livelihood, as well as a good many other things hitherto not mentioned.
In scanning these comments, note well the common themes. Dissention is not tolerated. If you dissent, you are the equivalent of an imbecile or the village idiot, being prejudicially labelled as a “stupid liar”—and this from a politician! Note that you are actively being harassed and bullied into compliance. These evil people are deliberately taking away your access to the things you have treasured as a once free people for no other reason than to harass you to the point of compliance.
Much comment in mainstream and social media has focussed upon the changing narrative and the inconsistencies in the narrative. Yet, what must be understood is that many of these inconsistencies are necessary for the programme! (Remember, Macron’s “This is the strategy!”) You cannot herd cattle by standing in one spot. By necessity, you, or the instruments you are using – dogs, horses, helicopters, etc – must shift position in order to guide the cattle to a destination of your choosing. This is exactly what is happening to you—and, yes, you are dumb cattle in the eyes of your government. Take the most recent example from the McGowan government in Western Australia. Many complained that it was inconsistent to say that the noncompliant could enter a café and buy a coffee, but that they could not go through a drive-through bottle shop, which does not even entail leaving your vehicle. Inconsistent? No, not if your goal has nothing to do with beverages and everything to do with herding cattle! This is Australia. Yes, you will upset a few by denying them access to their morning latte; deny them a beer and well … once you risked a riot, now you get compliance. Quebec province made the same laws. No legal pot or alcohol for the noncompliant. [23] Apparently, vaccination rates quadrupled![24]
This is coercion and punishment. Nothing less.[25]
However, it gets worse. Whilst we detest Macron’s words, quoted above, we must at least give him points for being honest. At least, he was open about the plan. Here and in places like Quebec Province, we are insulted with words like “encourage”, whilst we have a gun held to our head. After complying and receiving our apportioned ration of Whu Juice, we are forced to endure the Premiers’ repugnant behaviour when they stand up and thank the public for being so civically minded.
Moving on, please note just how little you and your life mean to these men. You can simply curl up and die any old time, according to the Philippine’s President. If you are non-compliant, you are just a waste of space. If you are non-compliant, you deserve nothing less than to be plunged into the cesspool or you are to be considered so unworthy that you should be stripped of your citizenship. Really, you are to be treated like the worst of the worst criminals and this because you refuse to comply with dictatorial mandates!
Alas, it gets worse. The Australian of the group, quoted above, lists you as an enemy if you show sympathy to those who refuse to comply, even if you yourself have complied! If you say, “This is wrong. It is coercion or persuasion. Nonetheless, to feed my children and keep my house, I will comply”, you are still the enemy according to this man.
This is the third criterion! Absolute obedience and worship or be punished. Understand this well. According to Michael Gunner, you have not rendered obedience and worship, even when you have had the jab, if you dissent in regard to the strategy employed. Absolute obedience and worship in thought (forehead) and in deed (hand)!
Pro-Christ / Anti-Vax:
In direct contradistinction to the worldview of the Atheistic Humanist, we have the Biblical model. In this model, we do not live on a purposeless planet, alone, and closed off from Divine action. Quite the opposite in fact. We live because God is. We live on a planet and within a universe that God constructed, and which operates in accordance with His Law and design. We live on this planet in the presence of God; not closed off from His presence and beyond the reach of His activity.
This is important for many reasons, but chief amongst these is the fact that when things go awry, we are not left groping in the dark in the vain hope that we may stumble upon a cause and an acceptable response. Rather, God has revealed Himself and His will to Man and, in that revelation, we have been given a panoramic view of the pieces that are in play.
In large brushstrokes, this panorama can be broken into the constituent parts of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation. Along with these major demarcation points of history, which impact Man at every point, we also have an absolute declaration concerning the Nature and Being of God. We do not need to wonder, á la Joan Osborne[26], what God is like in His being, what pleases or displeases Him, what brings Him joy or what repulses Him. No questions are necessary, for the answers are all there in Scripture.
This is God’s world. Man, as God’s creation, is expected to live in this world in a manner worthy of his creation and of the God Who created him. Thus, when Man deviates, individually or societally, from God’s Law and order (disobedience), God brings discipline (judgement) so that people and societies may be restored to blessing (life) rather than remain under the curse (death). Psalms 1 and 2 are clear Biblical examples in this regard. Psalm 1 addresses the man who delights in God’s Law and prospers whilst the wicked man perishes (for he rejects God’s Law). Psalm 2 addresses “kings” and “judges” (political or religious leaders) and exhorts them to “kiss the Son” – God’s true King and Political leader – lest they too perish in their way (of life in rebellion to God’s Law and King).
Enter the Zombie Apocalypse! How would we respond from a truly Christian perspective?
Well, the easy answer is, Biblically! Yes, that needs to be unpacked, but this simple answer is here for a reason. In assessing the Zombie Apocalypse, it is evident that very few Christians have started their response in the pages of Scripture. Very few Christians have sought to understand and respond to the Zombie Apocalypse from a truly Biblical perspective – placing Christian presupposition and worldview at the forefront.
Opening our Bibles, we can see many principles that should have been taken seriously. For example, God gives freedom to Man in the context of His Law. Therefore, if you are not a Law-breaker, you should not be locked up or locked out;[27] you should not be denied the freedom to move about, cross State borders, live, associate, or work. You should not be walled off from family, loved ones, the sick, the elderly, or the dying.[28] These restrictions are those which devolve upon the heads of Law-breakers, not ‘just’ citizens. Your business should not be shut down and patrons barred from accessing your wares, regardless of what blood money is offered. You, your business, or organisation should never be forced and co-opted into being a means of subjugation and suppression to your fellows on pain of fine and imprisonment.
A Christian approach would have taken a long-term view based upon Scriptural warrant. Thus, a Christian approach would not have sunk the nation into excessive and generational debt in order to prop up sin, erroneous governmental response to a bug infestation, and the crumbling remnants of a rotten culture.[29] A Christian approach would neither have condoned spending the country’s wealth on those who chose not to work, nor to double payments to those who were not employed.[30] If the Zombie Apocalypse truly showed that we had high rates of child abuse and domestic violence, a Christian response would have sent the police to those areas, rather than spend millions in time, bureaucracy, and law enforcement resources manning border closures or Daniel Andrews’ “ring of steel” around Melbourne – affectionately known to all as the “ring of chicken wire”, so ineffective was it! Equally, a truly Christian response would not have brought such an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and despair to the people that many not only contemplated but did commit suicide.
Along with these societal and communal aspects of justice, we would have seen an emphasis upon mercy and compassion, as well as a greater demonstration of and overt reliance upon God, especially regarding His protection from general calamities, pestilence, and everyday events.[31]
Hence, whatever else may be said, a genuinely Christian response should have and would have looked very different to that which we have seen unleashed by the Atheistic Humanists.
Understanding Plagues and Pestilence:
More specifically, when we look at plagues and pestilence in Scripture, we can clearly see that these are God’s response to overt wickedness on the part of a person or society. They are inflicted with the purpose of bringing forth God’s judgement in order that repentance and obedience might follow – seeing the sinner placed upon a path of life. Whilst living in a fallen world, we must deal with a degree of calamity as a part of life; plagues and pestilence, therefore, merely realise the abnormal[32] more regularly through frequency, intensity or both.
Again, let us quote the book of Revelation to gain further wisdom:
Revelation 9:18-21:
A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone, which proceeded out of their mouths. … And the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk; and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts.[33]
Revelation 16:8-11:
And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues; and they did not repent, so as to give Him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds.[34]
Three major tenets are to be noted: 1. God is the One Who controls and has power over these plagues (16:9). They come from God’s Divine hand alone. God is the Principle of First Cause and, as such, these plagues are not random mistakes within in nature.[35] 2. The plagues of God come upon Mankind, here to be understood in the first instance as those opposed to God and His Messiah, as a consequence of moral delinquency and rebellion; not because of fickleness or capriciousness in the Divine Nature. Those judged, worshipped demons and idols of every sort; they murdered, stole, and used sorcery (9:20-21). 3. These judgments can and do kill, but, overall, they are designed as a “shot across the sinner’s bow”[36] to put them on notice that they have strayed from the lane and are now in very dangerous waters.[37] The undeniable message to any and all who survive is that they should repent by forsaking their sins.
Furthering our argument, we now need to consider the Biblical definition of a plague. Many will conceive of a plague as too many bugs or as boils on the skin or some such. As this understanding correlates to the popular dictionary definition, most do not see the Zombie Apocalypse as a plague, thus concluding that God is not involved, repentance is not a requirement, “Full steam ahead!” with the Atheistic response. However, the common “dictionary” definition is not exactly synonymous with the Biblical usage. Consider our texts from Revelation. Figurative language notwithstanding, we see that fire, smoke, and brimstone are plagues. Fiery heat is also a plague. Would you have considered these as plagues?
An easier example may be found if we contemplate the ten plagues brought upon Egypt. In those texts[38], encounter is made with flies, gnats, boils, and locusts; all of which fit within the modern definition of a plague and would be categorised as such by most people. What of the frogs? Possibly? Probably! However, most, especially using the modern definition, would not count the death of livestock, giant hail, darkness[39], water turning to blood, or the death of the firstborn as plagues.[40]
Why does the Bible give such a different perspective? The answer is to be found in presuppositions and worldviews. In modernity, because we have an Atheistic and Evolutionary worldview, we view plagues as ‘nature gone wild’ and classify them according to the prominence of the symptom or most telling property. If there are too many locusts; too many mice; or too many welts on our skin and this upon too many people at once, then we declare a plague. However, whilst the Bible also includes some of these aspects, the true difference is to be discerned at the following points: 1. The source – God; 2. Plague is Divine and supernatural event; being directed and targeted by God, falling at His command. Plague, therefore, is not a random natural event or nature gone rogue; 3. Plague has a purpose – God judges sin and calls Men to repentance.
Therefore, it should be of interest that the various words translated in Scripture as ‘plague’ do not mean things like, “many flies”, “puss filled sore”, or “may your chickens turn to emus and kick your dunny down!”[41] No, it is much simpler. Most Biblical terms have a root that means “strike” or “blow”. Equally, the term might encompass an aspect of the instrumentality of the strike, like “flame”. What is prominent in the use of these terms is that a plague is God stretching forth His hand against a person or people in order to chastise them for their rebellion against His legitimate rule.
This being the case, it is vitally important that we understand that God’s threatenings are real and to be taken seriously. It is important to understand that God’s striking or plague may not necessarily manifest itself as ‘boils on the skin’. Of equal importance is the realisation that the absence of such boils does not mean that God is not at work in the present calamity, however it may be defined. For example, we are talking in this article with specific reference to the Zombie Apocalypse, but this cannot be detached from other events.[42] Are the recent and devastating bushfires, from which some people and communities are still recovering, mere Climate Change or God striking? Floods of recent? Mouse plague of recent? Unusual storm activity of recent, especially in Victoria? Magnitude 6 earthquake? All these so-called natural phenomena[43], one after another, are either passed off as Climate Change or are given some other spin by the Atheistic Humanists, but is there another explanation? Most indubitably, Yes! God has sent us plagues!
God has sent us plagues!
In light of this discussion, some may be tempted to ask this question, “If the Biblical definition is vague in terms of application or symptomology, how then do we know that the current calamity is a plague of God?” The answer to this question comes in the word “revelation”. During our discussion, we noted that God has revealed Himself to Man. This has primarily come about in two ways. First, God spoke; that message was written down and became Scripture. Second, God sent His Son in the incarnation to be the fullness of this revelation. As Hebrews tells us: “In these last days God has spoken by His son!”[44]—this being the ultimate culmination of the discussion and warning present in Psalm 2. In this revelation, God has specifically conveyed to Man those things which will bring blessing and life and those things which will bring curse and death.
Therefore, if we wish to get to the heart of the question, we must hold God’s Law, like an examiner’s marking template, over our nation’s beliefs, preferences, and practices. God’s moral standard matters in the life of a nation and, unlike the divisive pigeon-holing and labelling replete in modern society, it is the only thing that does matter!
Let us, then, do a little comparison:
The Ten Commandments v Aussie Culture
- I am the Lord, no other Gods.
Response: We are a secular society to be governed by secular principles. Atheistic politicians are welcomed with open arms, whilst those with a Christian heritage are viewed suspiciously and are held to a different standard of scrutiny, lest they begin mixing politics and religion.[45] The God of Scripture is not welcome. Attempts have been made to remove the Lord’s prayer from Parliaments, based on the notion that Secularity is the religion of the State. No other gods need apply![46]
- No Idols.
Response: An idol is anything that takes the place of the One True God in any respect. So, where do we start? See 1, above! Self. Sport. Beauty. Technology. Money. Work. Horoscopes. Social media. Politicians. Political parties. Clubs. Hobbies. Self-help sermons.
- No ill use of God’s Name.
Response: Well, not too hard. Think of the “OMG” culture since television’s ‘Friends’. Movies, how often does it occur? Wait till your atheistic mate, with no love for God, hits his finger with a hammer or loses his temper!
- Keep My day holy.
Response: Sunday is no longer a sacred day set apart to God. Rather it is a day for other gods. People worship faithfully every Sunday at the temple of the MCG, SCG etc, etc. Sunday is the day for mowing lawns, because Saturday was taken up with “me” activities that take no account of God.
- Honour your father and mother.
Response: With government incentives on offer to encourage teenagers to run away! A society where parental input to a child is limited by State power (Gender Identity and Conversion laws). Schools offering the pill (or the like) to children without parental consent and deliberately keeping it on the “low low”. The government stealing your money unless you give your 14-year-old daughter her own Medicare card. Parents are not able to discipline children. Father’s being disenfranchised.
- No murder.
Response: Murders happen in general because God’s justice is absent from our system. This is also a form of idolatry – Man telling God that Man knows more about how to deal with sinful Men than does Creator God! People are released into the populace when they should not be. In Victoria, in recent years, several women lost their lives to paroled rapists. Then we have: Abortion, Euthanasia, Suicide: bullying, harassment, trolling!
- No adultery.
Response: Do we really need to say anything? No fault divorce – removing God’s moral standard for marriage – has meant that adultery has been multiplied exponentially in this country.[47]
- No stealing.
Response: Excessive and unjust taxation. Altered definition, in some settings, to a dollar amount for theft. Lack of privacy; government intrusion. Loss of freedoms. Loss of employment. Fair and equitable transactions. No price gouging. Gender identity.
- No bearing of false witness.
Response: Slander. Trolling. Lying. Identity theft. Social media posts.
- No coveting.
Response: Body image, plastic surgery. Gambling. Homosexuality. Updating a phone, an appliance, a car, not because of need, but to look cool. Many of the sins listed above begin with a covetous intent. Covetousness begins with discontent.[48]
Keeping in mind that we have but scratched the surface with this list, it should nonetheless be easy to see that, as a people, we are God-haters, hedonists, narcissists, kleptomaniacs, murderers, and well … just disobedient to the revealed will of God. The question that comes immediately to mind is not, “Why is God judging us?” but, “Why has not God judged us early and more harshly given our absolute rebellion and infidelity?”
Why are we in confusion? Why are we chasing our tails culturally? Why are we making decisions that are economic suicide and which lead to economic slavery? Why are we so divided as a nation? Why has charity disappeared? Why is honesty so lacking? Why are social commentators bemoaning the state of play, no matter where they stand? Why can we no longer tell boy from girl, good from bad, right from wrong, forward from reverse, heaven from hell, God from Satan?
Why? No better answer is available than that given by Paul in Romans chapter 1:18-25:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore, God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.[49]
Having thrown the knowledge of God overboard, Man, in his sinful pride, has sought to be as God and construct a new set of rules and laws for his existence. In short, Man has set sail on his own. Man has invented his own compass. He has invented new sailing rules, and even a new ark … and so full of pride is he, that he even contemplates reinventing the wind! Yet, for all Man’s pomp, he is lost because his new compass is useless—like the compass of Captain Jack Sparrow, it may point Man toward what he wants, but it will never point Man to what he needs.[50] His rules are incomprehensible, contradictory, and downright confusing. Moreover, his new ark is not a God given device that floats above the waters of God’s judgement, but rather a Manmade device that leaks like a sieve and, with water to the gunnels, is in the process of succumbing to the waters of God’s judgement. As for man’s attempt to reinvent the wind and bend it to his will, well, that has left him out of breath, winded, and deflated.
All in all, Man is sailing his seas, driven on by his imaginary wind, in his newly constructed ark, feeling the breeze in his hair as the speed increases; but he is yet to realise that he is sailing in ever decreasing circles, like flotsam circling the drain, and it will only take a moment of time for the flotsam to be sucked into the vacuous pull of that drain, disappearing beneath the waters of God’s judgement forever!
Confusion in the Ranks:
This brings us to the serious point at hand. Man, in rebellion, sins against God, incurs God’s judgement, and, rather than repent, tries to excuse his actions, invents a smokescreen, or simply encourages greater rebellion.[51] Hence, the Zombie Apocalypse with all its fear, lies, tyrannies, and injustices – the Beastly-type rule of ultimate control.
By contrast, the Biblical and therefore Christian response, is one which Man, realising that he is ripe for judgement, bows before God, confesses sin, repents, and completes a 180 degree about-face in thought, word, and deed. It is this action that should have been called forth at the outset. It is this action that would have spared our nation from injustice and tyranny.
When the tyrants closed churches, they declared, as we noted at the outset, that there was to be no challenge to their narrative. The tyrants did not want groups of people – Christians – being encouraged to rebel or even think differently as they gathered together for worship and listened to God speaking. There were to be no other voices, especially not the Divine one! The tyrants shut the church precisely because they feared a thinking people with a very different perspective—with a broken heart, we confess that they really did not have that much to fear, given the capitulation of the Church. In doing this, the tyrants closed down the one and only avenue of real and effective help, which would have mitigated, if not removed, the danger from the people.
Some will doubt. Let us ask this question: Why was there and has there been no call for a National Day of Prayer? This has happened before in times of crisis. Yet, here, in our unprecedented crisis, with the unprecedented use of the word “unprecedented”, we have turned away from the One True Precedent! Why? A thousand times, Why?
Sorry, rhetorical question for effect. The reason “Why?” has already been given. These modern Atheistic Humanists have chosen the pit and the Beast over and against Jesus Christ, the True King. As a result, these men, refusing to walk in the path of life, have cut their people off from the Life and the healing that could only be found in that very pathway.[52]
Many think that the actions of our politicians are wanting; some may even call them deplorable, but such critiques do not even come close to the mark. These tyrants cut people off from life, temporal and eternal, by insisting that Jesus and the true solution that He brings was of absolutely no significance in the present circumstances. Understand this well, please; the frail, fallen creature said to the King of creation, the Great Physician, “You are not welcome in this ‘health’ crisis!” In issuing such a proclamation, these men committed our nation, our people – Yes, your loved ones – to a path of death, isolation, confinement, and harassment, all the while failing, ultimately, to protect the most vulnerable as they said they were going to do! No, “deplorable” does not even come close as a descriptor.
Yet, by contrast, the Christian response is centred in hope. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, in the seat of power as God’s Saviour and Judge. Jesus is gracious and merciful and that is exactly why Christians always have hope in Christ’s salvation. Therefore, we can still bow before Jesus, truly confess our wrongdoing, both as individuals and a people, and plead for mercy before His throne. We can turn from the emptiness and hopelessness of Atheistic Humanism, surrender to Christ, taking His yoke upon us,[53] and realise the wonderful and perpetual benefits of being reconciled to God through Jesus.[54]
This is the message that the Church should have preached. This is the hope that the Church should have brought to our nation. This is exactly why the Church should have refused to shut her doors – and should now be refusing to limit numbers or check vaccine passports. Yes, the Church should have remained open! Like Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, the Church should have politely told the State to “blow it out its ear” because She was going to obey God, not Man. The Church should have done this despite any threat the State breathed out. The Church, realising and exercising Her equal authority with the State, should have uncompromisingly exercised Her role as a community of Priestly-Kings and given uncompromised proclamation and leadership in the Name of Jesus the Messiah. Our actions of going dutifully to worship in order to hear Jesus speak, to hear Jesus’ answers, and to supplicate on behalf of our nation and ourselves, precisely because Jesus is the Great High Priest, should have been the Church’s clear testament that there was both a divine reason for the plague and a divine answer to it.
Our preachers, instead of running so acquiescently to Zoom or whatever other digital platform was to hand, should have remained steadfast in their pulpits and on street corners, speaking God’s Word, all the while thinking Luther’s thought: Here I stand. I can do no other! Why? Precisely because this is the preacher’s commissioned task! How will they hear without a preacher? asks Paul. His answer was not “Zoom it”, “Pray quietly”, or “Keep your mouth shut, because that is loving your neighbour.” No, Paul’s answer was, ‘Send the preacher because they must hear Jesus!’[55]
The Church’s Repentance and Ending the Zombie Apocalypse:
Bending Scripture but a little: There is a way that seems right to Man and the Atheistic State, but it only brings death.[56] The State, currently being godless fools,[57] can be expected to act in a Beastly manner. One can expect that the World would be Pro-vax and of the antichrist. The real question, with the most disturbing answer, is, “Why did the Church choose to be Pro-vax and of the mind of antichrist?”
Above, mention was made of the deplorable actions of the State, but the real lambasting must be reserved for the Christians and the Church in this nation who have been and to some degree still are complicit with the pro-vax / anti-Christ position. The adoption of this philosophy, over and against Biblical truth, means that the Church has put the State in control of Christ’s affairs. What may have been in doubt up to this point – Did the State have its hand on the Church’s steering wheel? – has now been answered definitively. Not only did they have their hand on the wheel, but they used it as leverage to shove their way into the seat and take close to full control! Critically, once the Church realised the state of play, She had two options: fight back or climb into the passenger’s seat. For all intents and purposes, it seems that the Church chose the latter.
Therefore, the question for the Christians and the Church in this nation is, “How are we to wrestle back control, if we are a priori committed to the belief that the State has the right to sit in Jesus’ seat? Exploring the darkness fully, maybe this is not even a question on the minds of Christians and the Church in this nation!
Yes, the actions of the State were wrong and these at so many levels. They took their pro-vax stand precisely because they were Anti-Christ in their philosophies, ideologies and worldview. This is not excusable, but it is understandable. The big question remains, however, “Why did the Church take on the philosophy of antichrist in regard to the Zombie Apocalypse?”
Well, the answer is very simple, even if it be stunning to your eyes. Like so many other things that have people asking the question, “How did this happen overnight?” or “How did this happen so suddenly?” the simple and real answer is, “It did not happen overnight!” Full stop.
An explanation of this “simple and real answer” is in the sad indictment that the Church has been imbibing of the philosophy of antichrist for at least five decades now. Under the guise of ‘love, light, and tolerance’, the Church has accepted any number of evils. What the Church has forgotten is that She dwells in Christ’s love, sheds His light, and must never tolerate that which Christ condemns.
Most think that the Church has been ‘doing okay’, with, maybe, the exception of the last decade or so. Yet, as Douglas Wilson, speaking to the American context, has noted, some of his detractors consider that the Church was doing well during the period of the Seventies to the Nineties. Yet, retorts Mr Wilson, ‘that is when Roe’ was unleashed upon America and millions of babies have paid with their lives.
Similarly, Antichrist gave Australians “no fault” divorce in 1975. Did the Church kick and squeal? No, not really. Why? Sadly, for the most part, the Church, having lost its cultural edge, did not see the danger and did not see the need to respond or was at a loss as to how to respond. Even now, you may be asking, “What has no fault divorce to do with the current situation?” Everything!
Space does not permit for all the lines to be drawn, but, please, consider these factors. Marriage was instituted by God and given to Man, Whom He made male and female. Marriage was a covenant and, as such, was hemmed by legal requirement, which included negative and positive reward. Thus, marriage was protected at law and by law as a God-given institution, which existed as a means and extension of God’s rule and glory throughout the earth.
Therefore, when the Whitlam government brought in no-fault divorce, they were essentially saying that marriage was not instituted by God, it was just a cultural construct. Taking God and His design from the picture meant that marriage was no longer a covenant protected at law. There was no penalty for the person who committed adultery. Thus, injustice became prevalent. A woman whose husband strayed, for example, may come out of the divorce settlement with something, but he also would still be entitled to something, which, under Biblical Law, he would not. Exploring further, this devaluing led to the breakdown of marriages because cultural safeguards were removed. In short, promiscuity blossomed. Along with this, we saw a rise in the number of “de-facto” relationships; this in turn saw the introduction of more laws in order to stop rorts in the welfare system; which, ironically, saw these de-facto relationships treated like God’s marriage after a certain time period. Then the term de-facto was dropped. ‘Shacking up’ became the norm; only there was nothing normal about it and it saw short lived relationships multiply; all of which equates to broken homes, unwanted children, etc. Then, abortion becomes a norm to cater for this evil etc, etc; so on and on into the pit via the downward spiral.
As Man moved further from God, he no longer wanted relationships with all these family entanglements and pitfalls and he most certainly did not want his family to be an aspect of God’s rule and glory, so homosexuality is explored. ‘Wow, what do you know, I can have sex, love, and money, with none of the attachments or responsibilities! Yeeha!’ This then leads to demands from the homosexual that they be treated on an equal footing with the heterosexual.
Then we enter upon the truly absurd. Marriage died in 1975, but the homosexual now wants the right to marry. At this point, we move from absurd to irrational and on to the incomprehensible – boys as girls; girls as boys; girls and boys as its; boys and girls being on a rotational gender cycle depending on how they feel or whether there is an easy gold medal to be had at the Olympics!
God’s order becomes twisted by design and Man spirals out of control. Man opened Pandora’s box and he cannot deal with the consequences. Man let the Genie out of the bottle and Man has no way to put the Genie back inside—indeed, some would rather the rampaging genie than obey God. They would rather Man’s chaos than God’s order.
At this same time, the Church begins to lose sight of her cultural responsibilities. She withdraws from the public square, and this for various reasons, abandoning but a few individual Christians out there to keep up their war cry –for they do not think the battlements should be abandoned so easily. However, the Church never helps the people by giving genuine support. Rather, in time, the Church finds that their warmongering is kicking up dust, which floats in the Church’s direction. Uncomfortable with a bit of grit in Her nostrils, the Church does not enter the fray and charge the enemy; no, much worse! She comes to the public square to silence or disown the faithful and, together with the enemy, She tells these people to go home and practice their beliefs within their own four walls. Of course, and regrettably, the Church points to herself and her own practices as the example par excellence of how to do just that very thing.
From here, preaching is further compromised – no hell, no sin, no judgement, no Law, no Divine right, no Jesus! Prayer fails. Numbers dwindle. Offerings diminish. Doors are shut … and the World grows bolder.
No, this did not come about overnight. It was decades in the making. The Church has been pro-vax and of the spirit of antichrist for far too long now and this is the crux of the problem. The Church has become far too accustomed to thinking like the World and to remaining silent while the World tells Her what to think and do.
The Church did not speak up, push back, or downright rebel during the Zombie Apocalypse, precisely because She no longer believes that She is in a cosmic war; that She is the Church Militant; that She is “God’s armoury”;[58] that She is the Bride of Christ; that She is the King’s consort; that She is God’s mouthpiece; that She has a prophetic duty; that She alone is Salt and Light.
Therefore, the Church in this nation must first bow with its forehead to the ground and confess Her sin and treachery to Her Head, Jesus Christ. Rising up in His forgiveness and power alone, She must re-equip herself with the full armour of God. Then, and only then, having the log removed from her eyes, having had Herself transformed by the renewing of Her mind to an understanding of God’s will, and having the wax removed from her ears, will She hear the cries and wails of the people and respond as She ought – “Thus says the Lord!” When this happens, and only then, will the State be kicked off Jesus’ throne, thrown out of the driver’s seat, and relegated to its rightful place – as an equal to the Church and not a superior – that derives its authority, like the Church, from Jesus. Then, and only then, will the Church regain Her wisdom, ministry, and prophetic voice.
Church of Christ in Australia, repent! Return to your sacred calling. Man the battlements! Sing praise to God! Hear Jesus again! Reject the world! Become pro-Christ and Anti-vax!
Caveat and Clarification:
Many Christians will have partaken of their allotted doses of Whu Juice and may well have taken offence at somethings contained in this article. Thus, some caveats and clarifications are, sadly, necessary:
- If you received an injection willingly, without coercion, and on the basis that, all things considered, you believed that this was the best thing for you and your family, then this piece makes few representations in your direction. The major point for you is, “Please pray for Revival”.
- If you received an injection unwillingly, surrendering to the coercive actions of the State because of fear, particularly on the basis that you struggled to comprehend what was transpiring before your eyes, then please refer to 1. above. The added clarification would simply be, Brother / Sister seek the Lord’s help in developing a greater faith and an understanding of the world in which He has placed you.
- If you received an injection unwillingly and despite your objections, because your covenant head believed it was the right thing to do, then well done to you for maintaining God’s order and submitting in a difficult time. Please refer to 1. above. The only addition: keep encouraging your covenant head in positive directions and may your faithfulness see fruitful and Godly results.
- If you received an injection unwillingly, because of coercion and threats, understanding all the while what an evil measure those demands were and railing against those demands, then this piece makes strong representations in your direction. Please, read and consider prayerfully.
- If you were in a pastoral role, having care for the flock of God, and you shut down worship and rolled up your sleeve, encouraging others to do likewise, then this piece, I am sorry, has you fairly in the crosshairs.
This article is not about being pro- or anti- a process of vaccination. If you read it as such then, respectfully, you have not read clearly. This article is about worldviews and how those worldviews have positive and negative covenantal consequences for you and your loved ones every day. Governments are not neutral; they will bring blessing or curse. Likewise, the Church is given primarily as an organism of life, but if She abandons Her calling, then She becomes the harbinger of death.
Josiah created great reform when, after the darkness, the Scriptures were found and read aloud, resulting in confession and repentance. Ahab created great darkness by killing and scattering the prophets of God – silencing their prophetic voice. If you are in any doubt, read of Ahab’s encounter with Micaiah. When the church closed her doors, it was not a matter of conscience, it was a betrayal of the King. Ahab and Jezebel demanded fealty and the Church acquiesced.
There is a lesson here for all of us.

In short, if speech to the honour of Messiah is condemned and outlawed, then these men were requisitely demanding that false speech or ill speech concerning Messiah be propagated. For noncompliance, the Apostles were jailed. For continued noncompliance, they were warned sternly. Peter’s response? Preach Jesus! Resulting in what? A plan to kill the apostles (v33).
[14] The important aspect for people to see, especially Christians, is that the usurpers’ pattern is based completely on God’s modus operandi. God alone, as Law giver and Creator, has the right to demand of Man absolute obedience and worship. It is this very point that brought Man low. God laid before Adam life and death based on obedience or disobedience. Man fell precisely because he disobeyed and therein reaped death for Himself. The usurpers follow this pattern but for one critical point; God, in Christ, can give life and He alone can make the dead live. Like the Magicians of Egypt, the usurpers can copy Yahweh’s judgements to a point, but they can never undo them. These usurpers ply their trade in death, but they can never bring life—but I digress.

Deny the unvaccinated treatment or tax them for being unvaccinated, if, and only if, they turn up for treatment for Covid. Fine. We can live with that option. Now tax or exclude all smokers who turn up for cancer treatment; all the obese who have eaten themselves into that state, and so forth and so on. If you want egalitarianism, then be egalitarian. Discriminate equally!
[26] In the mid-nineties, Osborne released the song, ‘What if God was one of us?’ In that song she asked questions along the lines of, What if he were a slob like us? Is he all alone? Most importantly, the question was posed, If god had a face, what would it look like and would you want to look at it if it meant you had to believe heaven, Jesus and the prophets? Of course, such a song was passed off as mere exploration, but what it is truly is the denial of revelation. It is asking questions that God has already answered. Moreover, it provides false options to the rebellious. God is. Jesus is. The Prophets are. Your decision not to look for your personal convenience does not alter reality.

Israel practiced what may be termed as “temporary confinement”., however, there was no concept of a life locked away in complete confinement that stretched for years and decades. If anyone sinned that grossly and was considered to be such a threat, they were invited to a ‘clog popping ceremony’ and issued a free ticket to ‘shuffle of this mortal coil’. Otherwise, the Law offered means to work for restitution and freedom.

There is a video floating around on YouTube that looks at how the Amish Community approached the ZA. At one point the statement is made, “People who were sick, even very sick, chose to stay rather than go to hospital”. Why? Precisely because hospital would mean solitary confinement. These folk would rather stay in their community, sick as they were, and have the companionship of those they love and know, rather than receive hospital care in isolation. Interesting! Once more, compare this with the horror stories we have witnessed. People not allowed to see dying family members—often the most frail and vulnerable people being denied the touch and presence of loved ones as they draw their final breath and depart this world!

However, there was nary a murmur on the issues of: How much is this costing? Who is paying for it? and, How long will it take to pay it back?

Nineveh was given a proclamation of coming judgement and commanded to repent. Nineveh listened and repented. In Jesus’ proclamation of judgement against Jerusalem, He makes clear that said judgement will be comprehensive because these people killed the prophets and spurned all the messages of warning.
